Super Mario: Stardust Moon (Alternate) is an extension/update of the Super Mario: Stardust Moon by Mariocrash, with the original hack being created by Fares242. This edit aims to "fix" many of the bugs, features, and missing features that some players were complaining about in the comment section for the original hack's RHDC page.
The gameplay is as similar with a lot of differences compared to the past versions, though new elements and changes were added in this update to stay true to other hacks from Fares242 which were also updated this year, which includes, Super Mario The Galactic Journey, and Super Mario The Crystal Stars.
Plus, a Green Comet edit has also been created alongside the alternate version, called Super Mario: Stardust Moon Extra - A New Moon, with a total of 70 Moon Crystals.

Plot[]
A decade ago, Mario has saved Planet Stardust from disaster that Bowser has caused. And now, he has arrived back--not just the planet--but the moon: Stardust Moon.
Peace is disrupted as its inhabitants have told Mario that the Power Orb, a sacred energy source as the main beacon of the planet, has been stolen by Bowser. And him doing it so has made the Orb break into 100 Moon Crystals that have spread out within the areas of Stardust Moon. So Mario's got to face the music one more time and restore the Power Orb from Bowser's grasp.
Gameplay[]
Fall damage has been disabled. If Mario dies in a course, he will not be sent back to the overworld. Instead, he is sent back to the starting area for that course, and all coins will be retained. That also applies when Mario collects a Moon Crystal, but he can exit the course at any moment via a warp pipe or at the entrance he came from.
100 Coin Stars have been disabled in this hack. Furthermore, coin models are no longer in 3D but reverted to 2D Starbit sprites. They also retain their previous color to match their worth.
